Thomas,

I cannot fathom being hard on 6 year olds. Your expression that they are enjoying success at wopping the opposition I see as more a reflection of your evaluation of what you are enjoying. I pity the children who play for coach who can be hard on 6 year olds. I also assume that this is a recreational soccer program as you mentioned school grades.

My kids are by far the most enthusiastic team in the league. The kids beam with pride. They can't wait for their next game. You should feel sorry for the other teams, not mine.

In Asian cultures, children are groomed and pushed for success from age 2. Open your eyes and look around at America today. Children are fat, lazy, ADD, low self-esteem, and frankly just plain depressed. How long can a nation of couch potatoes remain on top?

Do you think that military might is what keeps a nation on top? That is what they believed in Rome, as they sank into oblivion. The same is happening in America today.

Yesterday evening, while waiting for my kids to finish their swimming lessons at the YMCA, I read a Y publication which said that American kids watch 25 hours of television a week, and more than half have TV's in their own bedrooms.

Using the Thomas Watson method of counting, that means they all have televisions in their bedrooms.
