Richard, It is always best to ProfitOften. . . . . [Especially this week?]

But I was thinking longer-term about PLUG this morning [despite its recent rise]. . . it is one of the few long-termers [event-driven position trade] I see out there with promise that is ready to roll. Considering that they are perhaps the only Pure Play on manufacturing of Residential Fuel Cell Units. . . and considering the number of homes in California and potential size of the crises should we get an extra hot summer. . . . I am getting increasingly bullish on this little company.

We need to remember that the company has announced that it will begin releasing units sometime in 2001. And if they were smart from a marketing standpoint, they would hold up releasing them until the California crises began to hit Newsweek and Time once again. Then blitz the media. Whether they are that smart has yet to be proven.

But the deals are already in place that PLUG will sell the units to GE, who has already cut the deals with the regional utility companies across America. . . who will in turn handle the sales, installation and service of the units.

I can't help but see PLUG as the tech stock that doesn't move with the tech market. The risk is that if we get a mild summer. . . it may stay where it is or move lower. All in your perspective and opinion on where energy is headed, where techs are headed and how hot the summer will be.

I am not nearly as high on other fuel cell companies, as most of them deal with industrial use. . . .and most industries have existing back up power. But I am intrigued about something someone told me this morning via phone. . . that there is a company which has been building power plants in Mexico, for the purpose of selling power to Southern California. Green Peace aside for a moment. . . that makes very good economic sense. Anyone know the company name? I think it has 3 letters and one is an S.
