MM-

As one of the few here who with a decent market timing track record, what are you looking for to determine market direction in the coming months?

Specifically, it is pretty well accepted that the market overswings, and in both directions. At the early 2000 market bubble hype, any bear appearing was instantly ridiculed and shown the door. Of course, they were right. But at the time, new bulls were showing up daily, and adding fuel to the fire. Now it seems that we have (or are approaching) the opposite situation, that there are very few bulls, the only positive comments come from the long term holders, and new bears are appearing daily, gloating of their success in the same manner as the last bulls into the party did in late 1999 and early 2000. I agree with you that the large scale economy is in the tank, but I am interested in what you are looking for to identify the over-extended bear market that would signify the end of this cycle.

TIA
