Art, sure but Nokia, Ericsson, Motorola and all the others ARE migrating to a QCOM technology - W-CDMA. They are QCOM customers already. But that's not enough apparently - they also have to buy the chips and the BREW and what not, from QCOM. And while we wait for W-CDMA we have to hate GSM and the European socialists (boy, are we happy to at least have communist China buy our QCOM technology - maybe North Korea could be next!). GSM may have some shortcomings compared to newer technologies but it's because it was first -by a wide margin. NTSC stinks, PAL is much better so why didn't we change - we've had 40 years or so to do it? 110 Volts in our outlets requires thick copper wires so lets switch to 220V like in Europe. GSM is installed massively in the whole world already and still growing as fast as the next technology - get over it. It is not going to be replaced by CDMA 2G or 2.5G. GSM leads to W-CDMA = a lot of income for QCOM Why informed telephone companies all over the world, with much more in-house expertise than there is on these boards, chose GPRS and WCDMA over CDMA 2000 is beyond me but I'm sure there must be a reason. As a QCOM investor I hope QCOM has a REALLY good relation to all its customers. Buy some Nokia to go with your QCOM, they are inexpensive now - it may relax you all a little. :-)
