"Sometimes the next generation turns out worse than the parents. Like P4. LOL."

Please read my discussions with Scumbria regarding the P4 architecture. If you have anything intelligent to add at that point, then please do so. If not, I'll not waste any more bandwidth responding to your posts.

I also note that you have currently posted no data to support your assertion that AMD chips are currently "0.18 micron/0.13 micron" hybrids. If you're referring to the physical gate length of the transistor, then at this point in 0.18 micron technology ALL major players are using a shorter physical gate than was used initially. Beginning at the 0.18 micron generation there was a disconnect between the process generation and polysilicon gate length. INTC, AMD, MOT, and IBM all went with 100nm from the outset for physical gate length at 0.18 micron... and INTC had the thinnest published gate dielectric according to EETimes articles.

Bottom line is AMD is still 6 months behind Intel in process technology. If the economy desides to move north in that 6 month period, AMD will suffer. If the economy waits until next year to move north, AMD should be just fine.
