Let's say they are writing off 20% of 2.5 B$ or about 500 M$ as components.

They had component inventory of 941 M$ from total 2500 M$ (38%). Take off 500, leaves 441 M$ plus or minus - let's say 400 average from 1100 (36%)... which makes the numbers dddarn close.

Let's see where they settle

Note that for a company with P/B where it is, you would think writing off assets worth $0.33/share the price would have moved a bit more than it did.

John.
