Looks like I wasn't the only one teed off at Bush.
And guess what, those 3 brave Greenpeace dudes may have made a difference (without hurting anyone either). No coincidence Bush compromised on two key eco deals two days later. The Toxic President is not a tag he wants to wear. Maybe it even shook him up personally a little. Afterall, his family were originally moderate Connecticut Rockefellar types. Those people were fairly good environmentalists, even if they were oilmen too. At least they cared. But then they became a dying breed and gave way to the tyranny of the Sun Belt Reagan republicans who were very harsh on the environment. (Remember James Watt?) Now as GOP moderates control swing votes in the Senate they may be getting a little more power back, enough to keep the pigs from the trough, at least enough to hold off a stampede.
