use the winme boot disk to boot into DOS.

"One of the expertcity.com helpers, Vimal L., helped me make a WME Boot Disk. I know it's that because he had me write that on the label. I don't remember how this disk was used, specifically, except I do know his fix didn't work"

if you'd like to create another one (or just view the steps to see if they look familiar), here's how....

*********************************

To boot to DOS via a bootable floppy in WinMe, follow these steps:
1. Open the Control Panel.
2. Invoke the Add/Remove Programs applet.
3. Click the Startup Disk tab.
4. Find and insert a floppy disk with nothing important on it.
5. Click the Create Disk button and follow the prompts.
6. When the disk is done, close Add/Remove Programs and Control Panel.
7. Keep the disk in the floppy drive and restart the computer.

"except I do know his fix didn't work"

his instructions for a boot disk were probably right on. but as for running ndd, again, it is not surprising that he was not aware of symantec's knowledge base solution.

as for the "NDD won't run in a multi-tasking environment, you must switch to a single task environment to run NDD" message, for now i am hoping that you will circumvent this by booting with the winme boot disk instead of what you were trying.

good luck. stay focused.
