At this point Intel might want to consider canceling the first generation Itanium entirely (due to performance problems) and go with the McKinley core as the first release of Itanium. That way they won't get as much bad press about the (lack of) performance I'm sure the Scumbrias of this world will find some less than stellar benchmark to suit their fancy but you may be wrong in writing it off as a poor performer. You may be surprised... EP
