Well, it's not exactly a surprise that HP is not going to resell the Unisys servers, but Dell and Compaq are. The 32 way 32 bit processor is called, if memory serves, the 7000 and has been very popular.

HP is in a way throwing a little fud at UIS by saying that there is no use stepping up to the 7000 when the IA64s are just around the corner (18 months).

Other than that, it is also not a bulletin that the server market has slowed.

The real delay however, is the slow acceptance of Microsoft Back Office and Sequel Server 7xx. Partially as a result of the concern over the Government lawsuit against MS which has yet to be resolved.

And let me just add, if I may,

"The man from the magazine
Said I was on my way
Somewhere I lost connection
Ran out of songs to play
I came into town on a one-night stand
Looks like my plans fell through
Oh, Lord, stuck in Lodi again"

Sorta brings a tear or two, if truth be told.
