It's spring, and with it comes a host of expectancies.... In the high Sierra in California, the last skiers make their ways down the Boreal Ridge...In Anchorage, when travellers from the orient disembark they are greeted with a vernal essence not found anyplace else on earth, lest it be Norway.... and at Ampex....??? My father used to sing the following song as an encore...I posted it earlier on the yhoo board...It is "The Lilac Tree"...and since it is spring and this little song is appropriate to the season, I thought perhaps you would enjoy these lyrics, for they express a wish fulfilled. Perhaps the team Ampex will learn from this and tie one on as well: The Lilac Tree "A little boy and a little girl... in an ecstasy of bliss.... Said the little boy to the little girl pray give me just one kiss.... Well, the little girl was quite surprised, You're a stranger, sir, said she.... but.... I will give you just one kiss.... when apples grow on the lilac tree... The boy was very sad at heart... She was the only one... the girl was quite remorseful... at the terrible...terrible wrong she had done... So.... Bright and early the very next morn the little boy was surprised to see..... his little darling standing in the gaaaaaaaarden... tyin' apples on the lilac tree.
