Interesting tidbit on growth of storage, I got this from the SNIA show last week.

"It's taken 300,000 years for humans to accumulate 12 exabytes of information ... It will take just 2.5 more years to create the next 12 exabytes

50 GB = 1 Library floor of books
2 Terabytes = An entire academic research library
2 Petabytes = All US Academic Research Libraries
5 Exabytes = All words ever spoken by human beings"

Source: University of California at Berkely: "How Much Information" Study.

And to save some of you the trouble.
Kilobytes -> Megabytes -> Gigabytes -> Terabytes -> Petabytes -> Exabytes -> Zettabytes -> Yottabytes.

So .. is this a great business or what?!!
