Regarding S3 chips in Dell Computers, I'm looking at their most recent add in this months PC Mag and all the XPS desktops have the Matrox Millenium card. Only the two low-end Dimensions sport S3 Virge's and even those I believe can be upgraded to the Matrox card.

In this same issue, the PC Mag reviewed the current crop of 2D/3D graphics cards and the ATI All-in-wonder won and all the Virge based cards, including the Diamond's, were at the bottom of the 3D performance curve.

Looks like the Virge has been seriously leapfrogged on 3D performance by ATI, Matrox, Rendition and even Cirrus.

Makes me nervous...
