Maybe he was chuckling cause they have 5 signed ....LOL...fact is that even after a contract is signed, a definite decision to use can be changed rapidly. There will be no surety until drives containing KM are actually sold. No guaranteed minimums with a new tech in this industry, and I sure agree with those who believe that no announcement will be made about KM use until the revenues are finally rolling in. They said at the annual meeting, if I recall, that they did not know if KM would be in 97 drives. Didn't say "no comment"...did not say it would not .....they said that they did not know. I believe them, since the third quarter would be the earliest extreme, and that will not show up in a profit statement until October or November.
So, to the degree to which KM determines an investor's decision to hold Ampex, that decision for now entails that investor's assesment of whether KM is likely to be a salable tech. I sure think it is. Now if one were to sell now...buy back at a higher price once the revenues begin to flow ....well even then he or she would have the uncertainty of determining whether greater market penetration would later be achieved. A whole new risk- reward decision. A real peril of selling too early then. This stock is probably always going to be a tough one to make a buy sell decision on. Me I continue to still like the ratio right now ....will just budget more for aspirin.
