I can understand why you think it would be a cruel game. In the context you create any argument or discussion of belief would probably be a cruel game. I don't find it cruel to discuss things with people who are in no way my captive. Do you think it is cruel of you to discuss your beliefs with people who don't agree with you, since there is probably nothing anyone could say to you to make you change your mind either? I am trying to figure out if you consider yourself to be equally cruel.
