Here's another historical perspective. Back in the spring of '99, when QCOM essentially won its patent infringement suit involving Ericsson, and also won the suit filed by Motorola, it was clear that NOTHING could prevent QCOM from being successful in CDMA. That was when the stock really started to climb.

Now we have a similar situation with the hybrid chips, including the ones with GPS capabilities. NO ONE has anything like it (that works and is in production), and the FCC has mandated that the service providers must sell handsets with this capability after October 1. The competition is basically going to disappear, and subscribers to TDMA and GSM systems are finally going to consider switching to the services that have all these features.

As Yogi would say, "It ain't over till it's over." Well, it's over!
