Or you can make your own pickled beets and drop in your hardboiled eggs....buy a couple of cans of small whole beets(or sliced, whichever you prefer)--drain them and keep the "colored" water. Measure it and add enough water to make 2 cups. Add 1 1/2 cups of vinegar and 2 cups of sugar. Add a pinch of salt, and allspice and cloves to taste. Boil this liquid mixture, pour over beets and eggs that have been placed in a clean jar. Cover and refrigerate for a couple of weeks before eating. Enjoy! Janie
