Thanks for the link to John Howard's info. Very cool. 512 miles in 24 hours just blows me away. Speed is one thing but add endurance... AMAZING. That one may top Armstrong's comeback from cancer.

In general fitting on a bent is very easily done. You just move the seat forward or backward. A few bents have extending booms (the part which sticks out the front of the bike with the pedals). In order to fit one of these you have to do more work: add or subtract links in the chain, move the boom... not difficult but not nearly as easy as moving a seat. The V-Rex and Bike E are seat movers. The visions are boom movers (most visions anyway, they do have an entry level model which seat moves). I am unfamiliar with others but assume seat move is the most popular.

One word of caution on boom movers. Having the part which receives the most stress (crank) attached to a piece which moves is bound to cause problems down the road, IMO.

If you are very tall you may require a longer bike. I think you have to be in the 6' 4" or higher area before that is a concern.

More on fitting: you can really fine tune a bent to your riding style. Most seats can not only be moved back and forth but the tilt can also be adjusted. On days where there are many hills I like to have a more upright seat position so as to have better leverage. If it's an easier ride I kick that sucker back as far as it will go and play low-rider on my stereo ;)

Ahhh, the stereo is a whole other story. I won't ride over 20 miles without it.
