if i were to subscribe to the belief that the economy and quality of life would be less in five years as compared to today, i would have no motivation to do anything....might as well expire.....

if you have this belief how do you intend to counter this dire regression?

as far as better off today then last year....many would beg to differ, perhaps this applies to you, but not to the masses......it is all relative and depends solely on your frame of reference!
your comment on africa is a bit strange, for if all you know is ignorance, then you can't be labeled a fool....life and quality of same is always a comparitive situation.....you view a lesser plight as not being suitable to you....but if the lesser has never had what you have, they don't miss it....no different then the "silver spoon" mindset....
