as far as better off today then last year....many would beg to differ, perhaps this applies to you, but not to the masses......it is all relative and depends solely on your frame of reference!

Everything of a qualitative nature does. However, I am speaking in quantitative terms and as a whole US household wealth decreased by 2% last year, the first time since WW2.
