We experience a world with purpose and beauty, and conceive of the conditions necessary for that to be true. They may range from a belief in an immanent Logos or Dharma, to a belief in multiple divinities under the aegis of an encompassing destiny, to monotheism. The intelligent design argument specifically argues the inconceivability or extreme improbability of this complex universe evolving without guidance or interference. I am not arguing that. I am arguing that in the world we live in and experience, as opposed to the one abstractly put forth by scientism, the idea of divinity resonates.

As for courtesy, well, even I can only take so much snideness without getting exasperated........
