What is known is that levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere have risen a lot in the past century, and that this rise correlates very nicely with the increased consumption of fossil fuels. On the climatic front, there is a lot more evidence than "a slight rise in the global temperature", such as receding glaciers and thinning polar icecaps. Doesn't much matter, though, the orthodox Republican response line evolved smoothly from "it doesn't exist" to "it's natural', and I'm sure it will just as easily move on to "it's a good thing" if that becomes necessary.

If you want to do your part on Global Warming, Neocon, you can always go sign the "scientific" petition that says it doesn't exist. See oism.org . That project has sufficient "scientific" credibility on the right to merit mention in WSJ editorials. The fact that it has nothing whatever to do with science in the conventional sense doesn't much matter in that arena.
