asset re-allocation into stocks (just in time to catch the next collapse presumably), weakening dollar, energy prices.

gold rally. AND...rumors that one of the big investment banks is rolling in bond related derivatives losses, and that THAT prompted the cut yesterday. wouldn't surprise me in the least.
