Why is up absurd after a 60-99% drop? Shorts assume things are getting worse. The rest of the world seems to disagree.
I've always used the example of LU. At $7 it was selling at worst-case scenario book value. Well guess what? It's not going to be the worst case or anywhere close. Just a 6-12 month hiccup all of which was priced in last month. And with lower rates, no IPO's to dillute the market and nowhere else to put all the cash guess what? UP. And hey, don't disregard IBM, MSFT, AAPL, INTC, Juniper and VZ. All doing fine. VZ by the way will not have to ever warn and is still at only 12 PE.
