Yes I know the posts can be retrieved with a subpoena Francois but that does little good to the poor schmuck that lost money based on a stock pumpers posts which a COB can easily manipulate. Even if a post is restored by the admin there is a period of time that it is not seen by the regular person reading the thread ... any kind of power given to a non admin person should be considered carefully as it can be abused and from what I've seen has been abused.

Any management willing to give that kind of power to anybody on the Internet should be aware that they may be subject to lawsuits based on the actions of the COBs. Just because there aren't laws already in place stating the site will be held responsible doesn't mean it won't be held responsible.

Just as an example, the search engine Google stores webpages on their webservers meaning that the surfer may not always be looking at the most up to date page. There are threats of lawsuits against Google by website owners right now just for doing that.

Lola:)
