Numerical Technologies (NMTC) claims to have a proprietary optical lithography technology for delivering sub 0.1micron linewidths with existing infrastructure, -- one can implement the process with special phase shift masks and software. This has enormous, gorilla like potential if it is indeed, as they claim, the only available production methodology to achieve the finer resolution linewidths. Their stuff has already been adopted by UMC, the second largest Tiawanese foundary. In their conference call they said that they are qualifying their production process for a number of large semiconductor companies.
