Radisys is primarily a hardware company (an Intel spin-off) which originally made 80x86-based VMEbus hardware (most VMEbus is 68K, SPARC, or PowerPC), and more recently has created their own embedded form factor. They have done quite well, and would in no way be considered a competitor to WIND, INTS, or MWAR except for their recent purchase of iRMX, which I suspect was more to give Intel a graceful way to dump the product without completely leaving their (few) existing customers stranded. Radisys would really be considered more of a partner; frequently they will refer a customer to an RTOS vendor if they recognize that a true RTOS will be needed to create a viable project.

In spite of its non-suitability for embedded multitasking requirements, DOS will probably always have some market share in this area because it's widely known and has cheap development tools.
