Fred and Brian, It is my understanding that Intc is now getting ready to ship copper circuitry at .18 micron from the 12 in. wafer chip after January. Also, in the lab there is work on the .13 micron chip. Smaller and faster is the name of the game. I understand the manufacturers can get 2 1/4 more chips from the 12 in wafer. My concern is, Will the increased capacity create a glut in chips and make it a commodity with little margin. Those companies not in tha game will be left behind since they will not be able to produce the chips (quanity) at lower cost. An example is the buying power of Wal*Mart and how they can purchase ay a lower cost and therefore sale at a lower price.

These last waves as expressed by Morgan will be very important for the expansion of technology the next 10 years, IMO. Once we reach .03 Micron withing the next 36 months (Moores Law).

Just my opinion.

Paul
