Wooden Snakes

starless sky, where do I go now?
when the rivers have strangled my throat
and i kneel with wrists tied
a nomad going mad
a wanderer wondering
where it is i roam
no northern star to guide me
no clouds to hide me
the tree's roots weave about me
slithering and circling
twirling and encompassing
around me the wooden snakes entwine
until there I find that I am
in the sarcophagus of my own dead heart
