But it may be true. Even though the economic chaos during the Bush senior years can be traced to Reaganomics, it can not be definitively proven that Reaganomics was a bad long term strategy. The Bush years could have been transitional, with the economic chaos attributable to the final phase of the adaptation of the economy to the new rules. Clinton simply inherited a new economy fully adapted to the changes of Reaganomics.

Of course, a stronger case could be made for the Reagan years prosperity being the result of moves by Jimmy Carter's administration, such as the bailout of Chrysler Corporation.
