Due to the electoral system only. Gore won the popular vote and had a 3% drain from Nader on the left. Bush also lied about quite a few things in his campaign promises. Now we are seeing his true colors. I know many people back Bush and that Gore failing to win Tenn was a sign of his weakness but if the late-night comics are public opinion then when Letterman jokes about Jeb Bush rigging the election in Florida you know at least half the people still believe that. In any case it was very unclear and partisan in the end. So be it. Just don't say America doesn't agree with Gore. He got more votes than your man and dependign on how you define punch-hole votes might have been the real victor. According to the Texas definition, he won. But I don't want to fight that fight again. It's over. The future is all that matters now. Campaign finance reform, fiscal conservatism (paying down debt) and protecting the environment are my three principal concerns. Yuor man unfortunately disagrees with all three against US public opinion, so I'll fight him as many many others will as well until he "gets it".
