I wonder if what we have seen in the past week is largely a relief rally due to earnings warning season being over, since the companies that were going to seriously disappoint have already pre-announced. The talk that things might be improving in a few months seems kind of tenuous and in some cases speculative, leaving plenty of room for skepticism on the part of investors.
