Thanx for the welcome,Jay. Actually I only discovered this thread the other day. I picked up the "D" word else where.

I think I gave a synopsis of my market strategy a while back ........Buy strong stocks in strong groups .......The market be damned! It seems that I have heard rumors of tax breaks given for long term holdings..... But I can't prove this. I have shorted on occasion but it makes me nervous In the right markets I do considerable day trading. I live and die with the small caps.I find that in spite of what most think the tape is easiest to read here and [sadly to say ] I like the action they provide.......Lotsa shares in thin stocks gives me the stimulation I apparently need... My biggest holdings currently are OPTN and SRK

Wheras I commend Mike on his so very excellent call of last spring........I have noticed in every Bear that I can remember [far too many ] there has always been some one who had the foresight to make sucha call. Unfortunately it seems that for one reason or another they cannot stand such prosperity. Thus they call for "29" revisited....[Elain Gazzerelli 87 excepted ].....And lose credibility....

The economic threats that have been mentioned on this thread are in reality nothing different than we have seen for years. With some slight differences .First the weak dollar was to doom us all now the dollars strength will be our undoing.....<sigh>

I do believe that the NAZ decline of 70% has been exaggerated as was the 99 upside by the fact that the "index" has been "loaded" with Dot Com's and other high tech stocks that are hardly representative of the "average" As in all Bears excess speculation results in the most pain.

I almost hate to show sucha lack of imagination but I see this as no different than any other postwar Bear. There are doomsayers as at all bottoms....The fed is cutting ,earning warnings are every where and co.s are laying off workers. The CSCO's and SUNW's have had their day in the sun [no pun].Now new leaders will emerge. Of course I could be all wrong and reserve the right to an about face depending upon what my God [the tape] tells me in the very near future.
