It was Gore and he needed Florida's electoral votes to win, so he put the legal wheels in motion, and it delayed election results for a few weeks, which was not in the best interests of the country.

Is the Florida law ambiguous? Yes, it appears so.... but it only concerned Gore when he needed electoral votes...so, instead of clearing up the confusions before the election, Gore decided to dispute Florida's election laws after he needed their electoral votes to win and kept the entire country on hold after the election when the results didn't suit him.

I just don't see how the USSC had any other choice except to get involved based on the legal disputes over the election results, and the Florida courts interpretation of Florida election law(s). After all, this concerned the election of the President of the United States, and it was something that concerned the welfare and people of the United States.
