Two thoughts came to mind:

1) Given a choice, the Chinese would much prefer to collaborate with the Koreans than with the Japanese. Historical lessons will play a role here. Thus, DoCoMo's ploy to buy into China's wireless market sounds pretty dubious to me.

2) With Korean companies deeply involved in China's deployment of CDMA technology, there would be less propensity for China to use this as a political tool for better bargaining leverage. We should expect more progress in substance rather than words.
