George, a very good article, I posted that other source to point out extremism of the extreme Jewish religious right, that is why a I called it "interesting", I probably should not have posted it without my own comment on its content. Unfortunately, in that area of the world the conflicting rights of both sides are coming to flash point. The tragedy is that there are no "strategic" goals that can be achieved by either side with violence, yet, the situation has deteriorated to that point. Before the last elections,I discussed my daughter's intentions, and was shocked to find out that she was going to vote for Sharon (I hoped I raised her to be tolerant). When asked, why, she said that her turning point was when the school where her children (my grand daughters) was filled with bullet holes. It seems that extremism breeds extremism. At the end, she could not turn the handle all the way to the right (g).
A believe that Arafat committed an error of historical proportions when turning down Barak's last offer, it will be another fifty years before an offer so generous will be on the table. In the meanwhile, we will have to hear demagogues from both sides peddling their ware.
