M Allen, RB never claimed that he is one of the "Dirty Dozen". Although many times I disagree with him, I consider him a first class gentleman, and put the money where his mouth is. Just remember that RB is the only one who dares to bet against Tom DeSouza and has lost two in a row, and now going for the third month. He paid his bet. If that exclusive group is so certain as shown by their postings, why didn't any of them join the bet? It would be such easy money.

I agree to most of your post. A smart person like you already know that a drop of 50% needs a 100% gain just to get back. So a person who bought at $ 5.00 and now say at $ 2.50 lost 50%, but just to get back to $ 5.00 FTEL has to appreciate 100%. Now what time frame. 10 years like IBM? Maybe you and I are not patient enough to wait that long. If that can happen in 1 year, the question is that among 10000 publicly traded companies, how many can you pick that will appreciate 100% in a year. Is FTEL one of them? And that just to get back to the original purchase price.

And here is to RB's statement : "you have not experience a loss until you sell it". Nice example you gave. Tell that to those who have not sold their Bre-X shares. What is involved is also called opportunity costs. That is an important consideration.
