Elmer: New delays in Dual-Athlon systems? The last time I heard AMD talk about dual athlons they said they'd ship mid-year. Now it's pushed out again to year end?

I've long since adopted a "I'll believe it when I see it" attitude on both SMP and Palomino introductions. And, no, Sanders' claim that mobile Palominos have been shipping to OEMs since Q1 does not constitute "seeing it" ;-)

I'll believe SMP is generally available when I can actually buy one at a local store.

I'll believe Palomino is generally available when I can actually buy one at a local store.

I'll believe something provides any significant amount of revenue when at least one top 10 OEM announces and delivers a product with it - and can deliver in less than 7 days.

We all have our own measures of when we believe something - those are mine ;-)

After this AMD is going to scrap their EV6 bus architecture and start all over again.

AFAIK, all we know for certain is that AMD will scrap socketA. It may be that Hammer will continue to use the EV6 bus, along with some pins for LDT / HT (this part being what makes socketA no longer an option). Dual processor configurations would then be done the way socketA SMP is (proposed to be) done.

There's a lot we don't know about Hammer (and even Palomino) - way too much, IMHO.
