I only invest in technology stocks; almost completely in Silicon Valley companies. I have lived in San Jose for 25 years. I have been using the internet since 1995 and have been a member of SI since late 95. I have been helped immensely by the ability the internat has given me to manage my investments including finding high rate CDs nationwide.

I don't want to sound too much like an elitist, but the internet promotes our ability to retrieve and exchange information and information has little value to those who can't make beneficial use of it. For this reason, previous technology advances in transportation, medical care, electric power distribution, and communications were more egalitarian in affording their benefits.

We are part of the class of people who are benefitting most from the internet and that probably distorts our view.
