Brian, I just read the Business Week cover article about California's woes and never have I seen such hand wringing. Exports from the ports of L.A. and Long Beach slid 1% in the first quarter. Imagine! BW managed to find a laid off dotcom worker to talk to. Shocking! And, they found a company making pumps which packed up to move to the midWest - closer to their customers. That's where the company should have been in the first place. Not to minimize the state's problems, but the article reminds of a farmer having had a bumper crop and whining about an average harvest the next year. Don't buy the magazine for this article.
