The FED has two important tools to avoid recession and to limit speculation - one is money supply and interest rates and the other is margin requirement in the financial market.

Unfortunate the FED does not act responsibly and does not redirect financial resources to the industries were it is needed, they are after all bankers and most of the time protect the banks including WS and not the average business or citizen.

The right action would be now to impose higher margin requirements to financial institution and broker dealers (like 20% from 5%) who now speculate at 1 to 20 leverage or even more.
