Arrogance. Absolutely. Refusal to acknowledge mistakes in judgement.
Greenie has a long history of this. Said in 1990, "Well, recessions don't last forever." That one was painful for a lot of people, just as this one has been.
Still, I'm less pessimistic than I was even a month or so ago. I think 2002 is looking better. Naz bottom of 1650 or so will hold for this cycle, I believe.
Second quarter earnings still will be horrid, so Naz likely to go below 2,000 again fairly soon. Sox looks most vulnerable (overbought) to me. The last two weeks were suspect to me in part because of options expiry.
JNPR could emerge as benefiting from telco equip wreck. High-end biz software (storage, security, and SEBL) regaining their footing. DELL moving higher ahead of PC replacement cycle, should take INTC with it.
I have a couple of spec names in wireless, but I just don't know enough about their markets or competitors yet. Still watching.
It's scary, market starting to make a little sense to me again. I wonder how long that will last? :)
