Nice discussion of the potential for online gaming in today's Las Vegas Sun:

lasvegassun.com

Personally, I think that IF the Vegas-based casinos and Nevada State Gaming Commission could find a way to get a state-regulated form of gaming on the web, they would take over the industry in a short period of time; obviously they'd need either revocation or extensive modification of the Wire Act (which will be very difficult IMO as Congress has not been eager to see expansion of online gaming). Until that happens, online gaming will remain a fringe industry due to concerns of fraud and insolvency among the players, IMO.
