<<WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A top economic aide to President
Clinton (news - web sites) accused President-elect George W.
Bush (news - web sites) on Thursday of ''talking down'' the
U.S. economy for short-term partisan gain and to boost a
Republican tax cut plan.>>

So a political hack about to loose his job mouthed off? Whoopee.

Bush was just citing economic indicators. So was Cheney when he talked about rail shipping being down. I predicted a good bean harvest two years ago in South America by watching the rails when having coffee with a buddy who lives close to the tracks. Deere and Harvestor combines filled a really long train headed South to the loading docks. Same way I can tell the sales of Mitsubishi cars are off because of all the extra car haulers parked on the siding.
