I'm not sure about you system config, but it could be the voltage reg's getting too hot. I have the same problem with my machine at 66x3, but it was quickly solved by adding some cheap 486 style fans to the heat sinks.

(Explanation of why follows)

As the clock rate increases, so does the amount of current the CPU will draw off the PS (Power Supply). Most Power Supplies are designed for the kind of overclocking mentioned here (i.e. 2x75 to 2x83). Most VR (Voltage Reg) are only just in spec for 2x75 operation.

I know I must be way overbudget on mA at 3x66, but hey it's quick (actually I would put it up against an M2 PR200 anyday).
