Thanks for your timely action. The National Post's articles are very revealing. First, we're not alone in the same mood:

"At least 1,000 Canadian clients have lodged complaints with Waterhouse."

Then, I sympathize with those who use words like 'blackmail' and 'hostage'.

Finally, the whole situation is a joke:

"They require you to type in your name below the box where you enter 'I Agree.' Instead, I entered 'XXXX XXXXX' and voila, the Web site accepted it and gave me access to my account."

If TDW wasn't in a funk before that event, they will certainly be soon. For me, TDW is too late now. I woke up to their ways. I asked Schwab Canada to send me their account documents via snail mail. I understand that Schwab is an expensive broker; not to worry, because bad service can cost a lot more...
