E-Trade finally caved and admitted that there was a technical glitch in the software of its partner, Bridge, and made a journal entry giving me the price I had entered into the system.

(ET denied my inquiry, claiming that no other problems were reported with Market Trader. Later, when I didn't back away and advised them it was going to be an SEC inquiry for failure to maintain a reliable order entry system, EDT suddenly realized that it hadn't checked for technical problems on the day of the trade. Then it realized, when I said I was filing with the SEC, that there Market Trader system was indeed malfunctioning on the day of my trade.)

What bull shit. ET knew all along that they had trouble and the problem was in the software they were providing. These cheap brokers simply know that they it is in their interest to make it as dificult as possible for you to recover for their mistakes, even when they know that they were at fault from the minute of the original report.
