First of all, let me admit up front that I'm biased, being one of the founders and president of Open Environment.

You are correct to say that one of the exciting ideas behind the merger is to combine three tier development tools with Borland's strength in GUI RAD and compiler speed for the Inter/Intranet.

We have a large number of users of OEC products (over 300 customres as we speak) and I would be happy to put you into email or phone touch with some of them. You can also check out the product discussion forums on our Web Site (www.oec.com) and see people's comments and ask your own questions.

In the meanwhile, try emailing djk@uhc.com. This is Dave Kremer's email address at UnitedHealthcare. They've been using our products for about three years, and have built an application that serves 30,000 end users and processes over 1M transactions a week over their private US WAN. This application uses Powerbuilder clients and Sybase and DB2 databases. The application could just as easily run over the Internet, but they happen to have their own WAN.

(If that isn't Dave's email address, please let me know, I'll re-post it.)

If you have any other questions, please feel free to email me at adam@oec.com
