Holder Suit Alleges Cisco Violated Securities Laws

interactive.wsj.com

The 54-page complaint cites Cisco practices it alleges tended to inflate Cisco's sales and net, including loaning money to Web providers and small telephone companies on the condition they buy Cisco products.

The suit also alleges that Cisco knowingly shipped defective or incomplete products to customers so the company could continue to collect revenue. In one instance, the suit alleges, Cisco charged $400,000 for "shells" of switches and other products that were missing key internal parts that were in short supply. The customer, Miami software maker Worldwide Web, has been engaged in a legal battle with Cisco and former Cisco employees since at least April of last year, court documents say.
