Energy. Hmmm. I always felt Bush's Artic gambit was a political ploy, a chip to use in return for something else.
We had an enormous oil discovery about five years ago deep in the Gulf of Mexico. A huge find, but in deep water. As ex-gov of Tejas, I suspect he knows that.
Better relations with the Russians could help. They have lots of that thick, black stuff they could sell.
But actually, I think he wants to work with Mexico on the energy side. Mutually beneficial. Would help on a range of issues, and help make the new prez down there, Vincente Fox, look good.
Let me think here. Tubos de Acero? I don't know the symbol, but it's on the Amex.
Mr. Market goes down this week. Tech headed for summer doldrums. A good time to stay alert.
